Our Story

The name of the college is Cross river state college of nursing, midwifery and public health sciences.
Certain requirements were laid out by NBTE and the nursing midwifery council

The requirements include;

  • An enabling law
  • Resource verification fee
  • All six school of nursing in the state must be accredited.

The enabling law has been passed and the resource verification fee has been released to the college by the government.
In 2018, an enabling law was passed for the college of nursing, midwifery and public health sciences by Governor Ben Ayade.

In April 2020, Gov Ben Ayade also appointed a provost, registrar and principal officers.
When the college is fully accredited by the National board for technical education and the Nursing and Midwifery council.

The college will be training;

  • General nurses
  • Versatile midwives
  • Professionally sound public health nurses
  • Highly competent skilled and polyvalent nurses.

A courtesy visit was paid to the Abi local government chairman as the college is meant to be a PET project for him.
The college needs to be fully accredited to be able to award ND and HND certificate and in order to do this, they need the full support of the Abi local government.

Structures have been put in place by senator Liyel Imoke but there are a lots of big and uncompleted project.
The website will show the achievement of Abi local government and also inform indigene about the diverse ongoing projects where their assistance is required.
